Provide Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Even Out of Season!

The Food Bank is home to a state of the art flash freezing production line.

We work to preserve produce both for local market sales and to increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables in the diets of people in our community. Freezing food when we receive it locks in key nutrients, reduces waste, and creates a longer shelf life for the items. With the longer shelf life this nutrient-dense, flash-frozen food becomes more accessible to people living in the mountain region. In 2017 we preserved 195,000 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Our Instant Quick Freeze line prepares and freezes the following items:

  • French Fry Potatoes
  • Yellow Squash
  • Zucchini
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Carrots
  • Red and Green Peppers
  • Blackberries

If you are interested in purchasing these items please contact James Brim at 706-782-0780.

For every $1 the Food Bank receives, we are able to distribute 3 balanced meals
