The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia will work toward ending hunger as part of an overall community effort to alleviate poverty in our community.

The Need
The most recent Census data indicates that there are now approximately 81,000 individuals in need in northeast Georgia. The United States Department of Agriculture recently released figures showing that 1 in 8
Americans are food insecure-a term used by our government to describe the simple fact that they don’t know where their next full meal is coming from. One in six children face food insecurities. Specifically in our community approximately 78% of the Clarke County School District, 59% of the Barrow County School District, and 21% of the Oconee County School District receives free or reduced lunch. Great News! This month The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia has received 1.3 MILLION pounds AND distributed over 730,000 pounds!
