OPEN HOUSE

Thursday, July 29th, several of the Food Bank staff and Board of Directors greeted members of the mountain community at the Mountain Distribution Center Open House. Each participant was gracious enough to bring a plate of food to share with all of the guests. (read more)    

 

AUGUST FOOD 2 KIDS

Food 2 Kids is Revving up for another school year! This month, the Food Bank is collecting donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to go into the August Food 2 Kids bags. The Food Bank would like to thank members of our community for your support of this program and your recent donations to promote dental care.  Now that's something to SMILE about!

 

ORGANIC FARM

Did you know that the Food Bank has an organic farm? Thanks to efforts from our volunteers and the owners of Snowden-Tartarski, a two-acre plot behind the Athens distribution center has been planted with a variety of nutritious, fresh vegetables. Throughout the summer, volunteers have endured the Georgia sun and picked these lovely vegetables to be enjoyed by our community in need.
