We are celebrating our 10th year of Food 2 Kids this year and want to make it the best ever! Will Rock 4 Food is a community project to raise necessary funds to support the work of The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia; specifically its Food 2 Kids program in Clarke County. The benefit concert also offers patrons the opportunity to enjoy a sample size portion of food from local restaurants, live music by local artists, the area’s largest Rock, Paper, Scissors contest, and the opportunity to win incredible raffle packages. We will have a fun kids section, Our Junior Jam Session, with activities and special snacks! Terrapin Brewery tastings and commemorative glassware will be provided with VIP tickets only. Regular admission will not include beer tastings but we have lowered the ticket price to allow attendees who do not consume alcohol to bypass that part of the event and others who want to a purchase the tastings will pay the same amount as last year, which was around $30. The 2018 Northeast Georgia Chef Throwdown is a fun and exciting local chef cooking contest fundraiser benefitting the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
This two-part event, developed by Chef Jamie Allred of Fortify Kitchen + Bar and Fortify Pi, takes place at the Teaching Kitchen in Clayton, GA and is hosted by the wonderful Carlton Chamblin of Farm 2 Cocktail.
Join us for Round One of the 2018 Northeast Georgia Chef Throwdown on July 8th at 5pm. Six acclaimed local chefs will compete in rounds using mystery ingredients to put together one creative dish that will be tasted and judged by our expert panel of culinarians and food writers. Watch the action unfold and see who will be named “Top 3” by our panel of celebrity judges. Guests will enjoy light bites, beer, and wine provided by our generous food and drink sponsors.
At the end of Round One, our Top 3 Chefs will be presented with mystery ingredients to use in the final round. Chefs will have a limited amount of time to submit a recipe that will be served to an intimate crowd of 50 guests at the Finale Dinner on July 22nd.
Our 50 Finale Dinner guests will serve as our panel of judges for the final round of the contest! Dinner guests will enjoy 3 tasting courses by our Top 3 Chefs paired with refreshments provided by our beverage sponsors. Guests will have an opportunity to taste and score each dish and results will reveal a winner; “Best Chef 2018!”
