Apply for SNAP Benefits
Through our SNAP Application Assistance Program, we assist interested individuals and families in applying for food stamps, Medicaid, TANF, WIC, and CAPS benefits in the Georgia Gateway system!
We help neighbors complete their applications, ensure all appropriate documents are attached, and that the application is submitted to DFCS for review and processing. Once approved, we can assist with adding changes to neighbor’s cases, change reports, and renewals. Applications can be conducted entirely over the phone with no in-person requirement. What is SNAP?
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides a monthly benefit amount on an EBT card to eligible individuals / families. These benefits can be used when buying food at grocery stores or farmers markets that accept EBT—making it possible for individuals / families to shop for fresh produce, foods that meet specific dietary needs, and foods fulfilling cultural preferences.
SNAP is an entitlement program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that offers benefits to millions of individuals and families nationwide and is available to everyone who meets income eligibility requirements and citizenship / immigration status requirements. The Department of Family and Child Services (DFCS) reviews all applications and makes determinations on approval and benefit amount based on household size, income, living expenses, medical expenses, and disability status.
