Mobile Pantry Locations

We serve hundreds of families all at once through a direct “farmer’s market” style distribution format. With our box truck and tractor trailers, the Food Bank provides truckloads of both perishable and nonperishable food to those in need.

We serve hundreds of households all at once through a drive-thru style food distribution format. In this manner, those seeking food assistance can drive up to the distribution, pop their trunk or direct volunteers to load a seat in their car, and receive a months’ worth of nutritiously balanced food assistance with items such as meats, dairy, fruits, vegetables, grains, nonperishables, and other food items. A Mobile Pantry is an orderable distribution in which foods are selected and delivered by the Food Bank to be distributed in a drive-thru distribution style.

Members can order a Mobile Pantry without the need for a physical storage site, allowing Members flexibility to serve more rural areas or use more convenient locations to distribute food. The Food Bank offers two sizes of truck deliveries: a box truck which provides food for 150 to 300 households (up to 12,000 meals) or a tractor trailer which provides food for 350-600 households (up to 24,000 meals).

What are Mobile Pantries?

Mobile Pantries are large food distribution events hosted by Members of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia that provide supplemental grocery items to neighbors in our service area. These events are set up in either “drive-thru” or “market” style—you will either drive up and wait in your vehicle for volunteers to load your groceries, or park and walk up to receive them (volunteers may also assist taking groceries back to your vehicle).

What about paperwork?

You may be required to complete and return a TEFAP form before receiving food. This form helps us track how many neighbors we serve. Your personal information is kept confidential and will only be accessed if there’s a recall on a product you received from a Mobile Pantry, in which case someone will contact you with that alert.

Am I required to bring any documents?

No. You should not be asked for any documentation when visiting a Mobile Pantry. If anyone requests identification or other documentation, please contact the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia at 706-354-8191.

Can I attend a Mobile Pantry if I receive SNAP benefits?

Yes! We encourage neighbors to use any food resources they need to ensure they have enough food for themselves and their families. If you need help applying for SNAP benefits, please text “FOOD” to 74544 for assistance.

Is there anything else I should know about attending a Mobile Pantry?

Mobile Pantries are large events serving between 50 to 600 families, so you may have to wait in line for an hour or more. We recommend taking water and any other items you may need during that wait-time and for that day’s weather conditions. Please know that the organizations hosting the events and the volunteers assisting are working hard to get your food to you and everyone else as quickly as possible—your patience is greatly appreciated.
