On March 9, 2025, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia President & CEO, Erin Barger, was honored with the Donald R. Myers Humanitarian Award in Washington, DC. This award was presented, “In recognition of her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to ending food insecurity in Northeast Georgia. Since assuming leadership of the Food Bank three years ago, Erin has expanded its capacity to distribute approximately 15.5 million pounds of food annually across the region. Her compassion, empathy, and commitment to collaboration have significantly increased the reach and impact of hunger relief efforts. Her tireless work embodies the spirit of humanitarianism, making a profound difference in the lives of those in need.”
The Donald R. Myers Humanitarian award was presented at the 2025 conference for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and Development District Association of Appalachia (DDAA).
