Welcome, Volunteers!
Volunteers are vital to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia’s mission of connecting neighbors with nourishing food. Whether you provide administrative support, pack food boxes, or sort donations, volunteers are deeply appreciated and help us ensure every neighbor has enough food everyday.
Volunteer opportunities list below are scheduled first-come, first served. Large groups must schedule their events 8 weeks in advance to ensure a time slot. We cannot guarantee time slots for events on short notice.
In addition, we ask that volunteers arrive no more than 15 minutes before your session starts and promptly leave after the session ends. This allows our staff sufficient time to prepare and clean up after the volunteer session. Thank you for honoring these requests.
Please note that we do not offer court-mandated community service.
How To Get Started:
- Review our Volunteer Handbook for dress code, volunteer event descriptions, regulations, and other critical details of volunteer work. You can also find instructions for large group volunteer signup here.
- Click on the opportunity that you would like to participate in below. First-time volunteers will be prompted to create a profile with Bloomerang Volunteer. Volunteers must be registered through Bloomerang Volunteer to receive credit for their hours.
MLK Day, January 20, 2025
This year, we are partnering with Athens MLK Day of Service to host volunteers as part of a community-wide celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday. If you would like to volunteer at the Food Bank on MLK Day, please register using their Give Pulse platform.
