The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia provides our members access to millions of pounds of food they might not otherwise have. Members gain access to food either through our online inventory system or by selecting items from our sharing floor.

Sharing Floor

The Sharing Floor is the Food Bank’s layout of donated foods, similar in style to a small grocery store. Here, Members may obtain items in individual packing rather than bulk. Members must have registered shoppers before they can access the Sharing Floor at either our Athens or Clayton locations. If you would like to register your organization to access the Sharing Floor, please contact your Food Access Coordinator.

Members with registered shoppers can schedule a one hour, on-the-hour appointment each week during open hours:

  • Athens Sharing Floor – 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Clayton Sharing Floor – 8:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm

To schedule or cancel an appointment, Members can call the Athens Sharing Floor at (706) 354-8191 extension 106 or the Clayton Sharing Floor at (706) 354-8191 extension 212 or 208.

Senior Staples is intended to serve homebound seniors and seniors with health concerns which may prevent them from waiting in lines for food assistance. Participating Members order a select number of boxes each month (as determined by the Senior Nutrition Specialist) and cover the shared maintenance fee per each box.

This program currently has limited capacity for Members. However, if a Member would like to be considered as openings are made for this program, please provide a written request including your Member Reference Code to Kyle Fox at kfox@foodbanknega.org.
