About SNAP Outreach

Our SNAP Outreach department began helping individuals and families living within our 14-county service area apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during the Covid-19 pandemic. If eligible, clients who receive these benefits receive monthly EBT benefits that can be used to purchase food at a variety of stores and farmers’ markets. The program provides vital food assistance and helps to reduce some of the barriers between recipients and healthy, fresh foods.

Federal studies have shown that, depending on the state of the economy, every $1 spent in SNAP benefits generate between $1.54 and $1.80 in economic stimulation or GDP.
Apart from SNAP, the Georgia application process also include screening criteria and information for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), CAPS (Childcare and Parent Services), and Medical Assistance programs like Peachcare for Kids, Medicaid, and P4HB (Planning for Healthy Babies).
